Ellie's New Shoes
We had dinner last night with our old bishop from Provo. They gave Ellie and Jack new shoes! How sweet! Ellie wasn't able to be there so we let her open them this morning. Here's the video.

Welcome Jack
Jack is 6 weeks. It's hard to believe he's been here this long; then again, it seems like he's always been here. Funny how that is.
Jack has been a wonderful newborn. I don't know if I can really use that term, though, because he's wearing 3-6 month cloths already. (He's 13.5 lbs) We went to a pediatrician this past weekend and he called him a 3 month old. He was pretty embarrassed when we corrected him.
Ellie has been wonderful to Jack. Sometimes a little too loving, but almost always giving kisses and saying, "Hi Dack!"
No final news on where we'll be in the future, but we know we'll love our little family wherever we are.

Birthday Videos
Here are the two videos I shared with people at Ellie's party. I did two because it seemed right to make one of just videos and one of just photos.
Ellie and I had fun going through past blog videos. She really has grown.

John "Jack" Edwin Babcock
Introducing Jack Babcock, 21 inches long, 10 lbs, 0.2 oz. He was born Thursday 1/13 at 1:11 p.m. His full name will be John Edwin Babcock, named after Grandpa Babcock (John/Jack), the Johns of the Bible, Sarah's grandpa (middle name of Edwin), and Sarah's great grandpa (first name of Edwin). We love him so much.
We are super grateful that we were able to come home from the hospital Fri evening. Jack and Sarah are doing remarkably well. Ellie seems to be both thrilled and curious. We are all very tired.

Ellie's Bed
We put Ellie down for her nap the other day and went upstairs to mingle with the fam. We were surprised to see Ellie a few minutes later going into the upstairs kitchen. She was bare from the waist down! Somehow, she'd managed to get out of her crib, open the circular door nob , took off her pants and diaper and went upstairs. All of which (besides going up the stairs) she could never do before. So... we got a toddler bed and an extra tall gate. She was so excited to have an actual bed, but she still isn't too excited about the gate.
As an update on me. I am 38 weeks. We went to the doctor on Tuesday and he said I was 2.5 cm dilated and 60% effaced and that I'd most likely go this coming week. All looks good.

Halloween

We did a 'Lord of the Rings' theme this year. Pops was Gandalf, Dave was Eomer (the horse prince guy), Becca (Michael's sister) was Eowin (horse prince's sister), Simon (Becca's son) was an orc, Owen (Michael's nephew) was the Witch King, Mary (Michael's niece) was an Elf, Stewart (Michael's newphew) was Legolas, Mikey was Elrond, Michael was Aragorn, Ellie was Frodo (yes, she even had a ring!), and I was Arwen. We had a blast!
Pops helped everyone (Dave and Karly's kids were there, too, of course) stay together with his awesome staff. Michael made it out of wire, tape, pvc pipe and paint. He put a flashlight in the top so it glowed! People would be driving by and stop, roll down their windows and shout, "Look there's Gandalf!" Some of these people were not little. The kids kept saying, "Stay with Gandalf-Pops!" or "Gandalf-Pops! Wait up!"
Pops got into it and when we'd cross a street he'd stay in the middle and shout, "You shall not pass!" When we'd be done at a house, he'd raise his staff and say, "Thank you" to the host.
Loved the memories.
