Thought this would be fun to see.  Newborn pictures of Ellie, Jack, and Evan.

Evan Fox (a.k.a. Superman) is here!

So, we had our superman last Thursday! (Yup, the day before my birthday.)  I won't go too much into details but I will say it was the most perfect delivery ever! You name it and it was perfect. No tearing, no episiotomy, epidural worked like a charm, pushed out in just 2 contractions, he got a 9 out of 10 on the A.P.G.A.R. test right when he was born and a 10 out of 10 2 minutes later. He is superman! The nurses said they have never seen such a perfect birth or baby and never given such a high A.P.G.A.R. test.

Grannie was there. She was the first to kiss superman. She is also the one who found out that if you patted his bum he would immediately quite down. Michael joked and said it was his kryptonite.

Later that day Joy (my twin) brought the kids in to see little super-boy. I need to add here that joy is super awesome!!! She came a week before and helped with the kids so I could relax, then took the kids while I went to the hospital and then took them back to Shreveport for a week so that I could heal while mom helped me with superman.

Thursday night wasn't quite as awesome but just showed how much of a trooper Evan is. The nurse came in and said she heard a murmur and that his breathing was fast. It's suppose to be 60 breaths a minute or under and he was around 100. So he went to stay in the nursery under careful watch. Hooked up to lots of monitors. Mom or Michael stayed by his side 24-7 and I had to go and feed him and then leave so I could recover. It was very hard. Superman was awesome though. Everything he was uncharged of was perfect. He was calm an relaxed, he learned to feed from the very start and he got better quickly. At this point he still didn't have a name so everyone called him superman. We were able to leave the hospital on time because he was so super at healing. - miracles and blessings upon miracles and blessings.

He came back into the regular hospital room very late Friday night. He had fluid in the lungs (TTN) that had been the reason for the breathing difficulty but was under control now and the murmur was a valve closing that is completely normal. Totally healthy baby.

So, now that he was back and we could breath ourselves we started thinking of names. At one point we thought of Duke because he kind of looks like John Wayne. We also thought of Clark since he was/is superman but Evan Fox won out. Fox is a Babcock family name.

So now we have our wonderful Evan Fox (a.k.a. Superman). :)

Our New 'Slide'

I came home last night to this.  Michael had taken the time to video it and put it in a movie using his iPhone.  Loved it.

It's a Boy!

I realized that some of you might not know yet.  We went in for a gender check at 20 weeks... it's a boy!

I have been hesitant to do this video for a while.  I thought it wouldn't be appropriate with Grandpa Ken in the hospital (so grateful for the good news!).  Now, though, I think it is the perfect time to post.  Hope you all enjoy it and it makes your day a little brighter. :)

Here is some more fun at the beach!

Monday, March 4, 2013

Yeah! After who knows how many headaches I finally got the computer to work (Michael actually did it), I finally got the blog to work (I did that) and I got a video done!  AWESOME!  So, now I am going to share the first of many videos.  This one is of us in San Diego.  Michael had a business trip there and we were lucky to be able to go along.  :)

Hallelujah!

Hallelujah!  I finally got the blog to work!!!  That means more videos coming now that I know I can post. Until then...

Life has been great for the Babcocks.  Ellie just started in sunbeams today.  She was really worried about it at first but got over it when they started singing wiggle songs.  Bless the music leaders!

Jack did the cutest thing last night.  It was around 11 when Michael and I were ready to go to bed.  As usual I went to the kids rooms to check on them before going to bed.  Ellie looked like an angel.  I went to see Jack and... couldn't find him.  He wasn't anywhere in his room.  I decided to check Ellie's room before freaking out and found Jack in Ellie's circus tent that she got for Christmas. The night before he was camped outside our door in the morning.  He either just wants to be with people or he really doesn't like his bed.  :)

Michael and I are preparing for an upcoming business trip to San Diego in the end of January.  SO excited for the warmer weather!

Ellie's 3rd Birthday

I decided to post this a few days early. Ellie has been so precious I just wanted to share!

Jack is Walking!

In a matter of days Jack went from not crawling to crawling. The same happened with his walking. One day he was barely standing and the next ... wham! These aren't his first steps. We didn't have the camera for those. Also, there was some footage of Jack walking from our friend Scott to Michael but I can't seem to find it. :( Despite all that, though, he is so cute. Way to go Jack!
